Headquarters: Washington, District of Columbia

TechChange provides online professional development in technology and social change. Our platform helps build communities around the world through courses, workshops, and virtual conferences on topics like global health, human rights, economic empowerment, and more.

We’re seeking a support engineer to play a vital role in the smooth execution and functioning of the platform, with the potential for growth into other engineering roles. We’re a small, dynamic, remote-first team, and are looking for a self-motivated team member that can come in and help take our product to the next level.

  • A top-notch tech stack and modern development tool chain
  • A dream team of 20+ creative and tech-savvy colleagues
  • An openness to new ideas and methodologies
  • A passion for working with clients and learners who want to improve the world
  • A remote-first work environment – we want people to work where they’re happiest
  • A fun, dynamic, and collaborative work culture

As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for addressing day-to-day hotfixes, bug fixes, and feature development to benefit the program delivery teams. This position works closely with the CTO to triage incoming support requests and proactively work to improve the overall stability and safety of the platform. This includes:

  • Triaging and engineering solutions to incoming support requests
  • Identifying and fixing ongoing issues in consultation with tech and delivery teams
  • Documenting platform process and functionality to build program team technical capacity and capture team knowledge
  • Acting as a first-line resource for delivery teams with troubleshooting and support requests
  • Performing quality assurance tests and writing automated tests as needed to support new feature development

You are someone who has some experience across the technical stack, but are looking to deepen and broaden your skillset. You are a curious self-starter who enjoys optimizing user experiences and supporting the delivery of TechChange projects around the world.

You could work at top tech companies, but making a difference in the world is more important to you. You’re experienced, but believe in lifelong learning. You wake up everyday excited to work with a creative community of peers to build something meaningful. And you want to have a little fun along the way.

Below are some of the things we’re looking for. If you’re strong in some of these skills and eager to learn in others, we would still love to see your application!
